Kodak digital photo frame user interface
The Kodak EasyShare photo frame is a digital touchscreen picture frame that allows users to store, organize, and rate their personal photos. Users can create slideshows, play music and games, and connect to the web to upload photos.
Skills used: research, user requirements and workflows, wireframe prototyping, branding, visual design
> The Challenge
Partner with Kodak product owners and user experience designers to design an interactive digital photo frame that fit into the Kodak product brand architecture.
Context
The team defined user goals based on research and product requirements. Our main goals were to streamline the navigation, focus user attention on the photos being displayed, and simplify complex interactions, such as creating slideshows.
> Creating wireframes
Wireframes were developed to:
- solidify user flow
- establish key interaction points
- determine button placement and size
- set standards for typographic and image hierarchy
- create a visual grid to guide high-fidelity designs
> Visual mockups and branding
High-fidelity designs were created with these goals:
- establish visual hierarchy through color and typography
- maintain Kodak brand standards across the device
- ensure that the user is able to focus on tasks
- encourage user engagement and enjoyment
- optimize visuals to guide the user through the interface
> The Solution
I worked on a collaborative team to define user requirements, explore interaction touch points, and create a user interface that was visually engaging, easy to navigate, and represented the Kodak brand.
